Fahad brought a cardboard house to the family’s Founding Day gathering. He wanted an old photograph beside its doorway but did not know who was in it.
He asked his grandfather, who spoke about an old friend and asked to keep the photograph in the family album. Fahad drew another doorway instead and wrote the story his grandfather was happy to share.
His sister added a paper window and the storyteller’s name. The little house held their shared memories while leaving room for everyone to keep some memories private.
